Dr. Laura Crawley, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of the UGA Gwinnett Campus, has more than 15 years of leadership experience in higher education. While pursuing her doctorate in Women's Studies at Emory University, Dr. Crawley served at Georgia Perimeter College as a student affairs administrator. She then became a founding editor for a well-respected academic journal based out of Boston University, before joining a branding consultancy as Director of Program Development. In that role, Dr. Crawley consulted with non-profit institutions across the United States on branding initiatives and organizational development. From 2009-2013, Dr. Crawley ran the Executive MBA Program at Georgia State University, where her duties included recruiting and admitting students, developing the curriculum, and building connections in the Atlanta business community. As Assistant Vice President at UGA, Dr. Crawley directs a campus serving 17 graduate programs and more than 500 students, as well as several thousand visitors each year. Dr. Crawley was the founding board chair for a public K-8 charter school in DeKalb County, DeKalb Preparatory Academy, and has recently joined the governing board for Johnson C. Smith Seminary in Atlanta. Laura lives in Decatur with her husband, two children, one dog, and two cats.
