Lecturer, Behavioral and Brain Sciences Program

Dr. Moon joined UGA's Department of Psychology in the fall of 2024 as a limited-term lecturer and has been a full-time lecturer since the fall of 2025. Previously, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University for the 2023-2024 academic year after completing his PhD at Emory University in the summer of 2023. Dr. Moon began teaching college courses as a graduate student in the summer of 2019 and primarily teaches courses related to neuroscience, sensation and perception, and general psychology. He also has a background in comparative psychology and has interests in interdisciplinary approaches to teaching, bridging the gaps between the sciences and the arts.

Dr. Moon and his wife welcomed their first child, Oscar, in September of 2024, whom they added to their household of two cats and a dog. Dr. Moon is a very proud UGA alum who enjoys playing sports, running, playing video games, cooking, spending time with family and friends, exploring Athens, and would describe himself as a, "generally excitable human," with many, varied interests. GO DAWGS!
