UGA Commencement The University of Georgia hosts a commencement ceremony for undergraduate students in honor of the completion and/or in anticipation of your fulfilling all academic requirements at the University. A note about summer candidates:Undergraduate students completing their degree requirements in summer are invited to participate in the May graduation ceremonies. Psychology Convocation Ceremony The Psychology department hosts a smaller convocation ceremony every spring to celebrate our psychology majors. Thursday, May 9th, 20249:30amThe Classic Center Psyc. majors should pay careful attention to their UGA email for further information distributed in the weeks after spring break via the psyc undergraduate major listserv. Anyone not on this listserv should contact Ms. Stephanie Helmig at Stephanie.Helmig@uga.edu to be added. Graduates wishing to participate must complete the following Qualtrics survey to RSVP and indicate their number of guests (a max of 8) before the April 19th deadline. Undergraduate students completing their degree requirements in summer are invited to participate in the May graduation ceremonies. Graduates may bring up to 8 guests. Convocation is a more personal ceremony in which undergraduate students are recognized by name on stage. Students may participate in both ceremonies if they like or they may choose one or the other or neither. Regardless, students who complete all the requirements for graduation will still graduate. Academic Regalia Academic regalia must be worn to participate in the Psychology Convocation Ceremony. Caps, gowns, tassels, etc., are available for purchase at the UGA Bookstore. Parking The Classic Center is located in downtown Athens. Parking for a fee is available in the Classic Center Parking Deck as well as several others throughout downtown Athens.
