IOMP FAQ Can out-of-state applicants (non-Georgia residents) apply for in-state tuition status? Yes, section 7.3.4.1 of the University System of Georgia policy manual allows for certain qualifying students to receive a waiver of their out-of-state tuition differential and pay in-state rates. The full details are provided in this online Board of Regents Policy Manual. Waiver request forms can be found on the UGA Office of the Registrar website. The two most common requests are for Military and for Economic Advantage. The Economic Advantage waiver can be requested if you move to the state of Georgia for full-time employment prior to your first day of classes in the IOMP. This can include either a change in jobs or a job transfer that requires relocation for you or your spouse. Dependent students can also request this waiver if their parents move to the state of Georgia for employment purposes. More details are available on the two websites listed in the previous paragraph. Will you accept GRE scores received after the application deadline? We will accept GRE scores received after the Priority Deadline but not after the Final Deadline. If you submit your application and pay the application fee by the Priority Deadline, we must receive your official scores no later than May 1st for your application to be given full consideration for the upcoming Fall cohort. Applications where the GRE scores are submitted after then but before the Final Deadline will be included with applicants who submit by the Final Deadline. Reminder that applications not valid for the Priority Deadline are considered on a rolling basis, only if spots remain in the cohort after decisions are made on Priority Deadline applicants. It is to your advantage to submit your full application materials with GRE scores asap if you do not make the Priority Deadline. The online application asks for three contacts for my letters of recommendation, but the IOMP website says I am only required to submit one letter of recommendation. How do I handle this? You are only required to provide one letter of recommendation as part of your application to the I-O Professional Master’s Program, but you are welcome to provide additional names for up to three letters of recommendation. For the online application, just enter a non-active email address such as “NA@na.org” or "XX@xx.com” into the fields that ask for additional names. Do I need to request official transcripts as part of my application? Applicants should submit unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended as part of the online application. Unofficial transcripts not submitted as part of the online application can be emailed to gradadm@uga.edu. Official transcripts are not required during the review process and will only be required for applicants who are offered admission. Do not mail official transcripts until offered admission. More details can be found here: http://grad.uga.edu/index.php/prospective-students/domestic-application-information/requirements/transcripts-and-academic-records/ Do early applications receive priority? No. All applications received before the Priority Deadline are given full consideration. What is the application process for international students? The UGA Graduate School deadline for international students is April 15th. Full details are available here: http://grad.uga.edu/index.php/prospective-students/international-application-information/ The Graduate School also requires international applicants, immigrants to the U.S., and permanent residents of the U.S. whose native language is not English and who have not received a bachelor’s degree from a university in which all instruction is in English to submit a valid TOEFL (or equivalent) score. Only official TOEFL (or equivalent) scores less than two years old will be accepted. For further information, please refer to the Graduate School English Language Proficiency Requirements or to www.toefl.org to register for the test.
