The Department of Psychology is sad to announce the passing of one of our own, retired Professor Emeritus, Dr. Jay Allen III. Jay passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019. Jay was a UGA Psychology Faculty member for more than 30 years, and was Head of Psychology for 6 of those years (1993-1999), retiring from the Department in 2000. He was a prolific researcher of basic processes in learning and a consummate behaviorist. A celebration of Jay’s life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 4:00 P.M. in the St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, 3195 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, Georgia, 30605. A reception will follow after the service.
