Image: 4th year clinical graduate student, Kelly Rea, has been awarded a fellowship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Graduate Psychology Education Grant, “Expanding Georgia’s Behavioral Health Workforce for Integrated OUD/SUD Prevention and Treatment with Underserved Populations.” This grant, led by Dr. Bernadette Heckman in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services at UGA, will provide Kelly additional pre-doctoral training in interdisciplinary, behavioral health and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and other Substance Use Disorder (SUD) prevention and treatment services in high need and high demand areas. As ramifications of the opioid epidemic continue, the need for clinicians with training to address substance use and co-morbid conditions will continue to increase, especially in underserved communities. This is very important work and an excellent opportunity for specialized training - Congratulations, Kelly!
