Collaboration within the department and across the University is encouraged.

The Department of Psychology has approximately 45 faculty members, 90 doctoral students, and 2100 undergraduate Psychology majors. UGA is a land and sea grant institution located in Athens, 65 miles northeast of Atlanta, the state capital (www.visitathensga.comwww.uga.edu). Athens is well known for its quality of life, affordable cost of living, and easy access to both outdoor and urban activities (exploregeorgia.org). It is an excellent place to relocate for those of all ages. The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, its many units, and the University of Georgia are committed to multidisciplinary research, collaboration, and academic innovation and to sustaining a work and learning environment that is inclusive.

The position is one of two positions being advertised related to Health Disparities. The other position is for a senior applicant (https://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/396495). The creation of an independent public medical school at the University of Georgia has positioned UGA as one of only 13 higher education institutions with full-scale One Health (plant, animal, and human) research operations on their campuses, with academic units in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and medicine all thriving in Athens. This will support a thriving environment for Health Disparities research.

Since our founding in 1785, the University of Georgia has operated as Georgia’s oldest, most comprehensive, and most diversified institution of higher education (https://www.uga.edu/).

Candidates should apply at (https://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/ 403450) and include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests, representative publications and provide the names/contact information of three potential references. All applications received by December 6, 2024 will receive full consideration. For questions about the position, contact Dr. Steven Beach (srhbeach@uga.edu), Search Committee Chair.
