Psychology Students to Compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics

Three athletes with ties to UGA’s Department of Psychology are set to compete in the Olympic Games, currently underway in Paris.

Swim Meet

Javier Acevedo 

Javier is representing Canada in Men’s Swimming and Diving (100m Backstroke). This is his third time competing in the Olympic Games. Javier graduated from UGA in Spring 2021 with a BS in Psychology.

Ana Da Silva 

Ana is representing Brazil in Women’s Track and Field (Women’s Shot Put). This will be her first Olympic appearance. Ana graduated from UGA in Spring 2024 with a BS in Psychology.

Ieva Maluka

Ieva, a recent transfer student to UGA, is representing Latvia in Women’s Swimming and Diving (100m & 200m Freestyle). This is her second time competing in the Olympics. Ieva is currently an undergrad majoring in Psychology at UGA.
