Master’s Program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at UGA Celebrates More Than a Decade of Excellence

At its core, Industrial-Organizational Psychology seeks to improve the performance, commitment, and well-being of human beings in through their experiences with their workplace. Since 2014, the Professional Master’s Program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (IOMP) at the University of Georgia has enabled hundreds of working professionals to receive a graduate education from one of the top I-O programs in the world, in a format that allows students to continue working full-time. In 2024, the program celebrated its 10th graduating cohort.   

This two-year program features in-person, weekend courses at UGA’s Gwinnett Campus that are delivered by renowned I-O practitioners and faculty. While the program boasts 14 brilliant faculty and practitioners, four of them have taught in the program since its inception in 2014. Two of those are full-time practitioners, Matthew Harrison, Vice President of Talent, Learning & Culture at Cox Automotive and Wendy Ruona, a Senior Consultant on the Organizational Development team at The Home Depot.

A recent U.S. News & World Report ranked I-O Psychologist as the #2 Best Science Job, the #17 Best Paying Job Overall, and the #50 Overall in their 100 Best Jobs list. This lucrative field remains in high demand. This program has a strong alumni network and career placement, and the UGA I-O brand is highly respected and valued by hiring managers in this field.
