Points

Points System

  • We encourage everyone who attends our meetings to fill out the attendance forms, whether or not you are an official member.
  • Points are relevant for the following circumstances:
    • If you want to be considered for an executive board position, you will need a minimum of five points.
      • You will also have to be an official member of Psi Chi to qualify.
    • If you are a graduating senior and would like a graduation cord at no cost, then you will need a minimum of five points.
      • If you have the points and are an official member, Psi Chi will cover the cost of the cord.
      • If you do not earn five points and still want a cord, you will have to cover the cost.
    • For both official and unofficial members, members with more points will be given priority to certain opportunities and rewards. For example, for selecting our 2026 Outreach Committee, members with more points were given priority.
      • In the future, we may award raffle prizes to members, with each point counting as a raffle submission.
  • Earning Points:
    • The best way to earn points is by attending our meetings! Each meeting you attend counts as one point.
    • Sometimes, there are opportunities to earn points in other ways, like by donating goods or participating in one of our fundraisers. We will post about these opportunities, if they become available.
      • For Spring 2026, there are three opportunities to earn points outside of our meetings.
        • You may attend the Out of the Darkness Walk on March 22nd at 10 AM. If you do, please email proof of your attendance to Priscilla Bissah (pab38563@uga.edu) and Vivian Austin (vla36706@uga.edu).
        • You may attend our convention on Thursday April 9th as either a guest or presenter.
        • You may also volunteer with Nuçi’s Space, Athens Humane Society, Bigger Vision of Athens, or Books for Keeps by April 15th. If you do so, please email proof of your engagement to Priscilla Bissah (pab38563@uga.edu) and Vivian Austin (vla36706@uga.edu).
    • Please note that points restart each school year in the fall. Therefore, the five points must be obtained over the course of a single school year to qualify for an executive board position or a free graduation cord.
  • If you have any questions about the system or want to know how many points you have, reach out to our secretary (vla36706@uga.edu).
