Spring 2026 Important Dates ***All meetings are held in the Psychology Building, room 309 at 5:30 PM unless otherwise specified and are estimated to be one hour long.*** January 29: General Body Meeting - Research Spotlight and T-shirt Sign Up At this meeting, we shared information about research labs and projects within UGA's Psychology Department. We also discussed the steps to become a research assistant. February 11th: Social Meeting - Painting & Bingo At this social meeting, members enjoyed a Valentine’s Day–themed painting and bingo event while mingling with other students. February 18th: Philanthropy Meeting Members learned about different volunteer opportunities in the Athens area and the benefits of volunteering. February 25th: Applications to become an official member of the International Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology close Applications and more information can be found on our membership page. March 4th: Professional Development Meeting For our professional development meeting, we expect to have a panel of four experts in the field of psychology, including a psychiatrist, forensic psychologist, and clinical psychology PhD graduate student. More information to come soon! March 22nd: Out of the Darkness Walk Check in at 10 AM at Tate Plaza The Out of the Darkness Walks are about raising crucial funds and creating a safe space for those impacted by suicide. At the event there will be an area to share messages of hope and remembrance. March 31st: Applications for presenting at the Psi Chi convention close Access the application and instructions for applying by visiting our convention page. April 9th: Psi Chi Convention 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM in the Victor K. Wilson Memorial Hall Ballroom The 47th annual Psi Chi Convention for the Behavioral Sciences promotes undergraduate engagement in research. Undergraduates will present research that they have been involved in through poster or oral presentations. Anyone is encouraged to attend, even those who are not presenting. April 15th: Deadline to complete volunteering for a Psi Chi point If you volunteer with Nuçi’s Space, Athens Humane Society, Bigger Vision of Athens, or Books for Keeps and you would like to receive a point, please email proof of your engagement to Priscilla Bissah (pab38563@uga.edu) and Vivian Austin (vla36706@uga.edu). April 16th: Executive board applications close Executive board applications will open on March 16th and will close on April 16th. More information to come. April 16th: Form to receive a graduation cord closes In order to receive a free Psi Chi graduation cord, you must be an official member of Psi Chi. You must have also received at least 5 points. If you are unsure how many points you have, please email Vivian Austin (vla36706@uga.edu). April 22nd: General Body Meeting - Induction and T-Shirt Handout At our final meeting of the semester, we will induct new members into Psi Chi, distribute t-shirts to those who ordered them, and distribute cords to graduating official members with five points.
